What's the best Motor Scooter? Vespa, Honda, Rocketa? Please Help!?
That depends on alot of things.
If you are not willing to work on your scooter, you will have to get something with dealer support, warranty, etc.
Vespa and Piaggio are the most expensive, even though Piaggio is having many of its parts made by the same companies in China that make the ones you hear the horror stories about.
Honda and Yamaha make great scooters, much cheaper and just as good as Vespa and Piaggio. The same cane be said about these companies when it comes to parts.
Suzuki has been making some excellent high-end scooters called the Burgman.
Taiwanese companies like SYM and Kymco make excellent high end scooters at lower price ranges.
Hyusong - a Korean company is also making scooters under the United Motors name. Great product at a good price.
From China - Linhai is making better quality scooters. They are even better if you buy them from a Brick & Mortar Dealer that will swap-out the lesser parts and fluids for better quality and also make sure parts and bolts are securely tightened.
There are some B&M dealers that are selling lower-end China scoots but upgrading them and selling them for more than a drop-shipper would - CAUTION -
DON'T BUY FROM A DROP-SHIPPER.
There are companies like Scootertronics and Bandit Motorsports, that will make sure you get a good scooter and they will also support their scooters. They are the goodguys. There are others too.
Do your homework and you will be a happy scooterist.

Japanese Scooters, Honda, Yamaha, etc. are almost as good as the Italian Scooters and you will pay less. Also have good dealer network for parts and repair.
Korean Scooters, Kymco, Sym, etc. are as good as the Japanese but less expensive. Dealer network is smaller, may be hard to get parts and repairs.
Chinese scooters are mostly junk. You may luck out with a decent one but its best to stay away from them. However they are the cheapest.
